This Sadhana work is a full time business. Entering the phase where our sadhana becomes the sustenance for our life and our life becomes our sadhana. Calling in a new kind of sacred awareness to everything we do, everything is dedicated to our intention. Let your sankalpa fill your day and all your activities… let it infuse your conversations, your thoughts, cleaning, cooking, eating, driving. Let every moment be an opportunity to bring your intention to life.

As we work at it, offer it up. So that waning awareness and resistance can be eaten up by Kali, the courage and the confidence to follow through with words, actions and thoughts that are filled with positivity and awareness are fueled by Durga and the sweet moments where it works and flows is all Lakshmi’s sustenance flowing through us. If we take ourselves out of it, we can’t be so attached to the results, the reactions of other people or even our expectations of how things should play out.

No Effort is Ever Wasted.

The way we ‘practice’ being our best in a yoga class, as we challenge our bodies and watch our reactions then head into our day and put the ‘practice’ into action - do the same with your 15/20/30 mins of meditation. Let it bring to the surface all that you are asking, the sensory aspect of your intention. Let it push out the old reactionary behaviours and replace them with positivity.



Journaling


108 Gratitudes

In a stream of consciousness exercise (non stop writing) journal 108 times the sentence “I am grateful for xxx” in relation to your experiences and learnings from 2018.

~ I have found this to be a particularly powerful practice in mastering the quality of abundance

Action from Abundance

Close your eyes and go to your broadest biggest vision for your life or what it is that you are offering your sadhana too. Go beyond 2019 and perhaps this is a 10 year/ 20 year or beyond - your legacy - visualisation.

Write/draw what that feels like, looks like.

Begin the process of breaking that down, what would it take to achieve this? Starting big and break it down, from monetary needs, resources, people, qualities, energy, space, fine-tuning all the way down to moment to moment choices.

What can you do in this very moment that could contribute to that broader vision or your legacy?

What could you bring into this moment that could contribute to your broader vision or your legacy?

What could you bring and what choices could you make when faced with a difficult moment?

What choice could you make to uplift and inspire by just being those qualities that come from within you?

Take to your paper and ask yourself, in three areas of your life: What am I ready to receive more of now?

Examples could be in the areas of money and material wealth, love, acknowledgement + praise, success, relationships, health, enjoyment.

Then, go through those three areas and ask yourself:

Why do I want this?

How can I benefit from this?

How can others and the world benefit from this?

In what ways am I blocking myself from receiving more in this area of my life?


Mantra

Om Shrim Maha Lakshmiyei Namaha

(ohm shreem muh-hah luhk-shmyai nuh-muh-huh)

Om, I offer salutations to the great goddess energy of good fortune

A mantra offering the opportunity to go beyond our ordinary level of consciousness, where we see the things we want as having to come from places external to us. Chanting the mantra can take us deeper into the qualities of character, soul and wisdom that can be stirred and inspired from within.

The fullness in a moment, the feeling of being embraced from the inside and the simple and pleasurable feeling of easeful well-being and peace.

This is the real foundation from which to launch new habits and intentions of the heart.


Practices


Pranayama - kumbhaka

Find a comfortable rhythm of breath. Once established, begin to find a sense of evenness by creating a 4 count inhale followed by a 4 count exhale. You may have to gently extend and stretch the breath, allowing it to become a little deeper and longer.

Continue for 3 minutes then begin to add a pause in that moment at the end of the exhale, when the lungs are empty - right before the turn of the next inhale begins.

Continue for another 5 minutes, exploring that empty pause more deeply, holding it comfortably for as long as you can. Watch the quality of the breath that surrounds the pause, watch your sensations as you sit in the pause and allow yourself to become more at ease with the variation between that finetuned movement and stillness.

Finish with 8 full continuous breaths and release the practice.

The moment you wake up, bring to your awareness these words or what this feels like: ‘I have everything I need and I am whole and complete’ Even you are woken by alarms or kids, just take three breaths and start your day from this place:

Use the mantra as an invocation - chant three times to open your meditation practice

or

Make the mantra your meditation. Chant in repetition, using mala beads or just again and again, let it work its way through your distractions and let it dissolve your tensions and resistance. Just keep chanting - singing, muttering or silently. with your intention being infused with the mantra.
