The Process

Reach out and we will find a time to chat, tell me where you are at with your ideas for your ceremony and ask any questions.

If all feels right, we meet and complete the first legal document, the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM). You will need to bring along 2 pieces of ID (passport, drivers licence or other). We can discuss your ceremony, what you do or don’t want included. and most importantly get to know each other. Phoebe can offer guidance, advice and experience in this aspect of the ceremony process, as well as an open mind to ensuring we encompass all the aspects of the ceremony that will make it feel like it reflects you as a couple.

The second document that will need filling out is the the Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage. If you have previously been married, you will need to provide evidence that marriage is no longer valid.

Phoebe is able to send you resources, ideas and inspiration in the time leading up to the day, and via email, phone or catching up we will start to form your ceremony. If you need guidance with your vows, with readings, music or logistics, there is unlimited contact and support. Phoebe will send you separately a set of questions to build on her understanding of the nature of your relationship and approach to marriage.

On the day, Phoebe will be available if you would like a pre-ceremony meeting, meditation or any assistance and will arrive 20-30 minutes before the ceremony. Along with your two witnesses, we sign three important documents. Once completed, you will receive your Commemorative Marriage Certificate..

After the ceremony, Phoebe will post all the documents to the BDM (Births, Deaths and Marriages) in the state you married and send you information on how to apply for your official marriage certificate, go through the process of name changing and anything else you require.
